This is the 'dragging effect' that Gwen Ifil was referring to.

I doubt it. My guess is that within the next two weeks the various sides will harden positions and then we'll see the terms of the congressional debate. For the moment, it's all too fragmented.

I did not see the clip. If it is as I have read here, it is a little too much like "Hanoi Jane" to do the Dems any good. IMO, it will energize the McGovern Left, but leave a bad taste in the mouth of a lot of the "undecided."
