You miss the point. I don't like anyone interfering with states' rights. The only folks mucking w/WA state's rights according to your post are those within the state. The Bush govt is interfering with both CA and OR state's rights. That's illegal and unconstitutional. Do you support it because you voted for Bush? That's hypocritical.

moenmac,

Here's your John Ashcroft protecting State Rights to choose:

Does it trouble you that it took 700 cops to mistakenly arrest 3 harmless medical students in Florida a couple weeks ago.

Does it trouble you that there were more police in riot gear in Washington D.C. on Friday than there were demonstators and that the police violated the First Amendment rights of citizens to assemble for redress of their grievances?

Does it trouble you that George Bush is turning the U.S. into a militarized police state with full state terrorization of the civilian population as the unstated goal?

Does it trouble you that 49% of the population say we have too many First Amendment rights, while only 1% of the population have actually bothered to learn what those rights are?

It troubles me.

Amendment I of the U.S. Constitution:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
