very surprised at the responsible BusinessWeek articles on housing from two weeks ago
just got around to reading some past issues
they pointed out the same factor
rates are down, lending standards are lax as hell, but joblessness is rising and attacking the lenders and their securities
they imply a RE financing bubble is present
well done article, altho way too brief
and no indictment of Greenspasm as bubble shifter

mentioned rising foreclosures, rising delinquencies, and difficulties with the 2nd's and 3rd's

why, everyone should have at least 5 mortgages?!?!?

the articles might have closed with a solid question
why is deflation happening all around us, and rates falling due to collapsing equity prices, and job security threatened widely, yet real estate flying in the opposite direction ???

a bubble is as a bubble does -- inflates without controls
