The yen was again the focal point in the currency market today, this time rising sharply on a combination of half year-end repatriation flows and speculation that somehow Japan may be inching closer to much awaited reform. Meanwhile, the dollar also fell against the European majors on follow through selling seen on Friday. Undermining the dollar were fears of a further decline on Wall Street and possibly weak data from the US this week.
