Re: if 19 crazed Americans hijacked Saudi airliners and crashed them into Mecca, do you think every American ought to pay for it?

If they were part of a group committed to killing others for their religious beliefs, and that group had been supported with a grant of $200 million from the US government, I'd say the US was responsible and should pay.

Dan, if 19 crazed Americans hijacked Saudi airliners and crashed them into Mecca, do you think every American ought to pay for it?

Like I said, I share your views, but I think your proposed solutions are a little extreme. Besides, if we stopped buying Saudi oil and started putting a tariff on all imported oil, we'll probably cripple our economy and hence our global influence. And Saudi Arabia will just sell their oil elsewhere, especially China.

Tenchusatsu, in that one incident, 9/11, the Saudis did more damage to us than Saddam has done his entire life. Why then, are we attacking Iraq and not the Saudis?
