This is a good example of "selective perception", along with a good dose of "when you can't argue facts, argue motives."

Excuse me?? Am I misunderstanding you here Carl??

When was the last time a nation was motivated to go to war (or not to go) by "facts" alone??

There are always good arguments on both sides of any issue... And people always have motives for supporting one side or the other.

We're all going to pick out the rational that most closely aligns with our perceptions of the issue. In my case, I pay attention to demographics and the critical need NOT to lose an entire young muslim posterity to Islamic militantism or becoming Saddam's Republican Guards.

But that's a "touchy feeling" argument (fact) that doesn't motivate most Americans toward becoming involved in the affairs of the middle east. But it's as unavoidable and germane as was the "baby boom" in the United States.
