ToTradeWell, you might read info on KVM switches on e-bay to get an idea. All price ranges and all type configurations.

Please note: all manual switch boxes should perform fine under regular resolutions and conditions (SVGA 640x400 / 800x600 and millions of colors. You might need to use lower resolutions if you have interference from the environment and may require to use UL 2919 double shielded cables. If
you need to use a switch box with higher resolution graphics workstations, then please go with an auto switchbox. No matter what brand, all manual rotary switch boxes won't support the upper high resolutions as they are not designed for those resolutions, there will be some picture degradation. You may be able to use them at higher resolutions depending your cable quality and interference
from the environment by luck, but if you are working with high graphic resolutions, then don't try to save money with manual boxes, buy an auto switch box for peace of mind.

Regards, /jw

ps:
(DIN6 cables have the standard mouse and keybord plugs. All the computers sold in the last few years use DIN6 standard plugs. Older 486/586 computers will have AT keyboards with bigger ends, (DIN5) and serial mouse connection. Please see my other eBay auctions for small and cheap adapters if you have older type keyboard and mouse.

One thing to consider is whether or not you need to share speakers. The KVM's that allow you to share speakers are considerably more expensive than the ones that don't.
