Mon 30 Sept 2002 News Release
Mr. Randy C. Turner reports
DIAMONDEX RESOURCES LTD. ANNOUNCES DRILL PROGRAM
Diamondex Resources has arranged a 1,600-metre drill program to test several targets on the Czar, Hilltop and Bear Head properties, which are all located in the southern Slave craton of the Northwest Territories. Drilling is expected to commence during the week of Oct. 7, 2002. Czar property, Northwest Territories
During the spring of 2002, a 2,000-line-kilometre airborne
magnetic/electromagnetic survey (Fugro/Dighem) was conducted over the Czar property. Detailed ground geophysical surveys, (magnetics, resisitivity and
gravity) were completed over five high-priority targets defined from the airborne survey. A till sampling program (288 samples) has been completed over the entire property and down ice from the priority targets. Following an analysis of all data received to date, three geophysical targets (approximately 600 metres of drilling) will be tested during the fall drill program. Several other targets are currently being evaluated for the 2003 winter drill program. A total of $500,000 has been allocated for the Czar property for 2002, including the fall drill program. The Czar property is located approximately 225 kilometres northeast of Yellowknife, NWT, and adjoins immediately to the west of the King property. The Czar property comprises 31 mineral claims covering 77,000 contiguous acres and is 100 per cent owned by Diamondex Resources Ltd. Bear Head property, Northwest Territories Following detailed ground geophysical surveys (magnetics, resistivity and
gravity) over 10 high-priority targets from a previously conducted airborne magnetic/electromagnetic survey (Fugro/Dighem), three targets have been selected for drilling under the current exploration program (approximately 600 metres of drilling). In addition to the ground geophysical program, 305 till samples were collected in the summer and are currently being processed
and analyzed for kimberlitic indicator minerals. Several other
geophysical/geochemical targets are currently being evaluated for the 2003 winter drill program. To date, expenditures for the Bear Head project total $1.1-million including $700,000 for the 2002 exploration program. The Bear Head property is located 220 kilometres northeast of Yellowknife, NWT. This property extends from the eastern boundary of Diamondex's Hilltop property and adjoins the southern boundary of the Camsell Lake claim block, which hosts the Snap Lake diamond deposit. This property totals 353,000 acres in size and is 100 per cent owned by Diamondex. Hilltop property, Northwest Territories Since 1998, extensive exploration programs have been conducted over the
Hilltop property, which include 14,200 line kilometres of airborne
geophysics, 380 line kilometres of detailed ground geophysics and the collection of 2,375 till samples. Several high-priority airborne targets have been selected for further evaluation and testing, of which two
significant anomalies will be drilled (approximately 400 metres of
drilling) under the current program. These targets have resulted from
continued exploration focused within an as-yet-unresolved kimberlite
indicator train. Located within the central portion of the property, the mineral train measures seven kilometres long by 1.5 kilometres wide. Numerous kimberlite fragments have been discovered within this train where extensive sampling has recently been conducted. These samples are currently being processed and analyzed. Drilling on further targets within this train will be conducted during the winter 2003 drill program. Total expenditures for the Hilltop project to date total approximately $4.3-million, including $550,000 for the 2002 exploration program. The Hilltop property is situated approximately 180 kilometres northeast of Yellowknife, NWT, and adjoins immediately the southwest corner of the Camsell Lake claim block that hosts the Snap Lake diamond deposit. The Hilltop property comprises 103 contiguous mineral claims covering 215,000 acres and is 100 per cent owned by Diamondex. David Clarke, PGeol, MSc, vice-president of exploration for Diamondex Resources, is a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 and is responsible for program design and quality control of exploration undertaken by Diamondex Resources.
