I have often lost money shorting -- small rounded tops like that -- short away -- it could work out, but I've done that before <ng>

kitco.com

I guess everybody sees how good a short the golds are now ...

Frankly, I think long the market is even higher risk than shorting the golds here ... don't get trapped <ng>

do something manly here that will make you some money -- put out some FNM and FRE when we get the pop; it will make you some good money -- 2nd drop is usually the "fattest" <ng>

those things bounced hard off overhead resistance 3 times -- I know -- I caught them twice, but couldn't do anything the third time round ...

I think shorting the golds here is a no brainer

I've sold a little of my longs, and you're right, the gold shares don't act well. My FWIW guess is that too many people have been burned, and they don't think it's going to go higher. The real reason for the weakness probably is what someone somewhere said a month or two ago. One day gold is going to break through 325 and leave a lot of people behind. The same thing will happen at 330.

when that happens absolutely everyone is going to be scrambling, chasing them higher.

WM do you view this as a short?

Re gold the difficulty in shorting is this is right now is a world with no stable market. You could have another Enron in the making in the banking community When you look at world markets the risk is very great mow in my opinion .
