OMD, If you can wait, there should be a firesale on both the widescreens and the plasmas by the annual Washington's birthday sales. just a thought.

Does anybody have any advice?

Spend top dollar. We're counting on you to prop up the economy. I'd say a 60" Plasma screen would be a good place to start.
