Calypso, Yes, watch lists make it easy to track it, as to bookmarks that you rename so you remember what they were.

Buyers want to keep the price low and show no interest until they snipe. It then becomes a trial by one or more people to time a window to a second or so, unless you want to bid early and set your proxy at your max price.

It is just human nature to want to mimic the usual auction flow, going..going...gone. After all what real life auction says it will end at 4 PM and then 20 people shout out a bid and he tries to see what was highest. In electronic bidding, as long as they are in time the sorting can be done.

The advent of snipers is why we now have high start prices.
When I sell now, I start it at a price I would be happy to sell at.
