Neff claimed Vanguard Windsor had one-third of their portfolio in homebuilders. Some of these losing funds are trying to pull out all stops to try to catch up in performance.

-------------------------------

Neff points to shares of homebuilding stocks as attractive for their valuation, since most still sell for 5.5 to 6 times next year's earnings, despite their gains over time. He owns KB Home (NYSE:KBH - News) and D.R. Horton (NYSE:DHI - News), among others, and has about 33 percent of his own stock holdings in homebuilding shares, Barron's said.
