This looks like a really nasty strike because it involves not merely wages, but technology change and job security.

I'm going to stock up on groceries. Offhand I'd guess that 90% of our food is shipped in via container. The local longshoreman's union is not involved, but our point of origin in Tacoma is shut down. Maybe we can ship stuff from Canada or direct from Asia if this goes on much longer.

Ironically our state is stuffed to the gills with booze because of a big liquor tax increase effective tomorrow, so we'll have plenty to drink! <g>
