It is a very good point, Michael. Of course I don't write these perspectives without a great deal of consideration of their effects. I sincerely hope that I am more wrong about this than anything ever.

But there needs to be people who will take time out to erect investor road signs. This would be a "Dangerous Curve Ahead" . ."Rockslide Ahead" . . "15 MPH" . . .with flashing lights. It doesn't mean that you are going to crash into the big hickory tree like so many have before. . . it doesn't mean that you won't navigate through just fine. The dramatic WARNING signs being erected are there to help you, if you will heed their caution. . . .slow down. . . consider alternate routes. . .and consider the potential consequences should you decide to ignore the warnings and barrel right through.

This is certainly a far different tone from back when I was saying, "take profits often. . . .buy a home. . .remodel. . . put kids through college. . .take that long needed vacation" And believe me, I enjoyed saying those things FAR more than saying, "consider selling out while prices are high. . . consider dumping that boat you never use while it still has value. . . consider eliminating all debt and tightening the belts for what may lie ahead. . . "

But one never knows when the hammer is going to fall. Ask those who lose their job how long it takes before the phone starts ringing. I guarantee that those persons would give anything to turn back time for a day and sell off this or that to give them a fatter cash reserve cushion. . .to weather tough times.

The problem with hard times, is it is impossible to predict how, when or to what degree they will effect you.

Here's to a dramatic recovery with minimal effects!
