I think the Democrats, or should I say Gore, made a mistake of wasting weeks of election campaign on their weakest issue - war on terrorism.

This may be recorded in history as one of the biggest political blunders of modern times -- certainly if the Republicans get both houses out of it. It is amazing to me that if, in fact, Clinton is at the helm, he could have made such a bungle (I can see it from Gore or someone, but Clinton?).

BTW, Begala mentioned at the close of Crossfire tonight he has a new book coming out in 3 weeks, "IT'S STILL THE ECONOMY, STUPID". Clearly, a pre-election attempt to get the dialog back on what HE views as the appropriate course. I think he'll be preaching to the converted though.

He is to the left what Ann Coulter is to the right. Relentless. Of course, Coulter is bright, so she makes a good case, if hostile. Begala is hostile, always well-prepared, but just doesn't have much to work with <g>...
