There is no evidence of Saddam using force...

You're wrong. Since September 16, Iraq has tried to shoot down coalition aircraft 67 times, with 14 instances this past weekend.

Your logic escapes me. The attackers were from Saudi Arabia, therefore we should attack Saudi Arabia, a country that is our ally? Hello, yourself.

The attackers are dead, so what? That means the war is over?

I believe that 15 of the 19 terrorists were SAUDIS, were they not? The majority of the funding came from SAUDI ARABIA. Crown Prince Abdullah from SAUDI ARABIA was invited to the ranch in Crawford for barbecue. So, therefore we should bomb IRAQ.

Hello?

Step by step Delbert... Iraq must fall first.. (followed by the Syrians and Iranians) then we will have the financial, political, and military leverage to deal with the Saudis.

This, I opine, is where we're heading in this war... The US realizes that cultural change must occur in Saudi Arabia, where Wahabbism is the primary religion.

Create a major US presence in Iraq and the Saudis will no longer feel so secure in their regional power.

And then hopefully we can effect a moderating presence on SA, holding out the carrot.. backed up with a stick.

Delbert Kroupa - thank you for this.

I was beginning to despair that nobody in America can see the issue in this (rational) light. Every day on TV the US President is telling fairy tales of 'goodness' and 'evil', preparing to strike a country that has shown no more aggression in the past decade than many others. I find it difficult to believe that America believes these rather strange and simplistic presidential messages.

From where I sit in Europe, the picture is very clear - the current administration has decided it is a good idea to change the balance of power in the world to their favour as much as possible in the time when they will be able to do so, until the sympathy of the world regarding the 9/11 runs out. Thus America will attack Iraq, killing who knows how many thousands of civilians in the process, in order to replace the regime with one that will be much more sympathetic to its oil needs.

Personally, I am afraid of what this will mean for politics in the future - now that the way is paved, why should not Pakistan attack India "pre-emptively"? Why should Turkey not march into Athens because they feel Greece might pose a problem in the future?

Disclosure: While I am not American, I do not hold any love or hate towards Americans or the US of A. I am terribly sorry for the 3,000 people who have lost their lives in New York last year, just as I am sorry for the 6,000 people who have lost their lives in Afghanistan. All of the above is written without a trace of malice, the way most Europeans see the issue at hand.

Fortunately the surviving family members of the victims of 9/11 are not buying this bait and switch, and are suing SAUDI ARABIA to reveal their role in all of this.

Actually their attorneys, ones who do their research and are savvy, are suing the perpetrators instead of someone they can't lay this on.
