.RE: DAN7 gives his condolences to Xybernaut shareholders

My condolences for those that put their hard earned money into this stock. I personally think that what is around the near term corner will surprise many. XYBR, or any other stock, does not have such a rapid and sudden decline without a major underlying reason. This reason, in my opinion, will soon be announced or discovered. In the event XYBR is unable to raise funds, similar to the recent General Magic announcement, this does not mean that any and/or all liabilities are cut-off along with the telephones and electric. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been lost by almost 60,000 shareholders, WHY? The reason for these losses are quite apparent to me, and from what I have seen posted recently, many others also. I will be clarifying exactly what I mean, as the days become shorter and shorter.

Xybernaut Mobile/Wearable Computers Tested and Approved as Component of U.S. Navy RTASS Program Under SSIL Certification

Mobile Assistant V (MA V) Approved for Use With RTASS v1.1 for Remote Technical Assistance and Maintenance Aboard U.S. Naval Vessels

Thursday October 3, 8:40 am ET

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 3, 2002-- Xybernaut Corporation (NASDAQ:XYBR - News) today announced that the U.S. Navy RTASS Program (version 1.1) has been granted System/Subsystem Interface List (SSIL) certification. As part of the certification, Xybernaut Mobile Assistant® V (MA® V) mobile/wearable computers were configured and tested with RTASS v1.1 software.

SSIL constitutes a master list of technologies and solutions that have been pre-approved for use by U.S. military units. The SSIL certification process, which involves thorough evaluation and comprehensive performance assessments, is often a requirement for technologies that are intended for shipboard deployment in the U.S. Navy.

Though SSIL certification is often required for system software, COTS hardware (including devices such as the MA V wearable computers) are often configured and tested with SSIL-candidate software. During initial software testing, Xybernaut MA V wearable computers were configured and displayed with Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport RTASS v1.1 software. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) in San Diego, CA performed this certification. As a result, RTASS v1.1 software was certified for limited use under SSIL guidelines.

Under various RTASS initiatives, Xybernaut MA Vs have been configured and tested as computing and communication platforms for shipboard technicians. The MA V is a PC-equivalent wearable computer capable of running COTS and proprietary applications in the exact same manner as a desktop or laptop computer. Each MA V is also speech-enabled for application management and two-way voice over Internet (VOIP) communication. Each RTASS MA V is configured with a digital camera and support for wireless or hard-wired network connectivity.

"Xybernaut wearable computers have played an integral role in military preparedness for more than a decade," stated Edward G. Newman, chairman, president and CEO of Xybernaut. "From tactical battlefield command and control to shipboard maintenance and repair, the benefits of wearable computers are continuously being proven. Xybernaut wearable computers improve field force performance and productivity by allowing expert technicians to be 'on call' at all times and provide real-time remote assistance to other technicians conducting remote assignments."

NUWC Keyport's interest in wearable computers is as a platform for the RTASS program. RTASS, which was initiated in 1998, is a software program designed to enable senior-level naval engineers and technicians by developing a system to provide remote expert support to shipboard technicians at any time to any location.

Xybernaut products and services were recently added to Worldwide Technology's (WWT) GSA schedule providing government procurement officers a more streamlined channel through which Xybernaut products and services can be acquired.

Throughout the Company's history, Xybernaut has built and maintained strong relationships in military and civilian government organizations at the federal, state and local levels including specific success in tactical military/security, field force automation, homeland defense and emergency preparedness.

Participation in RTASS v1.1 SSIL certification is an important accomplishment for Xybernaut related to its continued efforts in various government/military sectors.
