Al >some academic types published the directions on how to do it from junkyard scrap

I know, but the finding of 30lb "weapons grade uranium" under the seat of a taxi in a remote part of Turkey made me think about a DIY atom bomb.

Of course, the whole thing is crap, as is a DIY atom bomb. Nonetheless there are those who will take the incident, and the idea that anyone can make an atom bomb, very seriously.

>doesn't anybody have a geiger counter anymore?

You may well ask when the "suspect" material
"was harmless, containing zinc, iron, zirconium and manganese."

People may not have geiger counters but they sure have vivid imaginations about Saddam's alleged Weapons of Mass Destruction.
