Hmmm, if you believe T's story yesterday, he came to this conclusion on his own and all the Dems tried to dissuade him from it.

Before he said that, I assumed he was getting great pressure from the top and the bottom to do something different or get out. From the top, I assumed the national Dem party had a great deal of leverage because it is so expensive to campaign these days and the national party is the big fund raiser. It looked a little like Clinton's Cuomo strategy, particularly since McAuliffe (sp.) is Clinton's man.

From the bottom, I had heard rumors that dem candidates for everything beneath the senatorial slot were concerned about their own candidacies. They could envision voters pulling the lever for Forrester and just hitting the full Rep column.

I still think some parts of that story are most likely. T is not the most reliable source for these kinds of stories. "His good friend" McGreevey. Who believes that one.
