<<Dear Ken: I suspect Bush knows something he cant tell us without disclosing how he found out.>>

Well Bush probably knew that those 33 pounds of weapons grade uranium seized in Turkey was really only a few ounces of harmless material. And i'm sure he knew that the "dirty bomber" wasn't really quite as the media portrayed him.

I'm sure there's a lot of things the President knows but doesn't tell us.

As for the Iraq situation, i think it's entirely possible that the administration is playing this very well: that we've got a good cop - bad cop thing going on with the U.N.

The U.N. is certainly in a great negotiating position by being the only entity that can prevent a U.S. invasion of Iraq. Iraq would never allow the resumption of inspections if it weren't under the American gun.

At some point i expect the administration to back down and take credit for the resumption of inspections.

And i expect the market to be very pleased.

If it turns out the administration really is hell bent on invasion without allied or U.N. support, regardless of inspections, i'd expect the market not to like that at all.
