Yes, it's not Nirvana or Utopia yet, but that doesn't mean we need to panic over minor glitches and warts. Sure, we excise the warts or develop better immune systems, but life goes on in the meantime. Children are still running and playing around the world. More of them are doing that right now than have ever done so before. 100 years ago, there were far, far fewer of them and their prospects for living a long and happy life far less than now. A war with Iraq isn't like a war with Hitler and Germany, though some people try to draw analogies [both Hitler and Saddam had a moustache and neither of them were fan club members of Judaism - they tended to violence and cruelty too]. It's a trivial event on a global scale, worth a few points on the stockmarket for a few days. There are 6 billion of us and Iraq's current oil production is a small portion of the overall supply. I can see lots of bad news. It's rampant around the world. But there is far, far, far more good news. Unstoppable good news burgeoning everywhere. Life is good news and We the Living are not all going to collapse in a heap because there's a glitch in the desert in the Middle East and a wart coming up on our nose. 6 billion people all trying to make their lives better. More and more of them understand that to make their lives better they need to produce and trade, not conquer and steal. It's almost a cultural norm. Perhaps even a majority of people think along those lines now, even in regard to foreigners. Careful of the anger [it should be enjoyed in small doses - then go and have some fun in the sun; excessive anger is bad for our health]. We could have a vote and see who wins; Jay the optimist, Ray the angry young-at-heart man or Mq the vacuous cheerleader. Actually, if the USA wants to conquer Iraq, I'm okay with that. We never did finish the Crusades. Heck, there are more Moslems in London than Christians in Mecca! We've [the Infidels] been losing. There are more Moslems in the USA than Americans in Kuwait. I was quite annoyed by the destruction of the Twin Towers and Alan Beaven and a lot more besides. I've been put out by Moslem Head-Hacking of Stan Shaw in Chechnya who dared to build cellphone equipment there. I'm all in favour of a reconstitution of the UN, but pending that, we might as well accept that huge numbers of Moslems are in favour of Jihad and are determined to bring the fight to we Infidels. So, let's rumble! We can't choose not to fight them - murderous bullying thugs ignore pacifists [or trample them if they get in the way]. It seems that they only understand brute force, which is not surprising given the poisoning of their brains with mindless Moslem mantras and the demands for subservience to their priestly dominance hierarchy of superstition and militaristic political tough guys. They are like the more maniacal Christian type [still extant here and there] and the general theme of Christian murderousness of the Dark Ages and witch-burning times. I don't think Americans are overall of a mind to accept being mass murdered in the name of Moslem Jihad and world conquering. I can understand that. Come to think of it, neither am I. I could well have been up the wonderful Twin Towers when Atta attacked. Maurice
