Is it possible for a system that has already contracted a virus, trojan, ect, to be able to fool detection software?

Absolutely...some trojans have the ability to fool anti-virus and trojan hunters...for a while. Kinda like thieves and cop equipment. The police may have something that is very effective against "perps" but eventually gets bypassed. Kinda like radar and radar detection equipment. It's a constant battle for the police to have the upper hand. All this talk about stealing and theft makes me nervous. I swear I deleted those mp3s when I found out I shouldn't have them. Really...that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!
