Ma'am I did the best I could but only felt like a hero once and that was by accident. The planes had been averted from Ramstien to another air base. I was supposed to pick up a rat's head for rabies testing. Drank a little Strawberry champaign and ate some wursts on the way over. No rats head but a little bitty baby in an incubator with his E8 daddy along. They were supposed to send a real ambulence but the orders got screwed. I tromped the pedal on that ambulance and it was a long and rough ride but the kid had started breathing on his own out of fear. I also delivered a baby when I was supposed to pick up a truck. I never knew what the day would bring.
