WMT quality sucks in comparison to TGT

(unless you're buying paper towels, soap and plastic wrap)

Mrs. McKie loves TGT.

I do too...in this area it is a great place to shop! They have remodeled the local Target store, and added food products as well as their other merchandise. (After the Walmart model?)

IMO Target may have seen lower sales for the month of September, but I would think that they would have record sales going into Christmas. With the current economy, more people seem to be shopping at Target...even if they're not on a budget. My niece wants a Target gift card for her birthday or Christmas, because Target has become an "in" place for teens to shop.

From the Target release today:

11:59AM Target issues transcript of Sept 30 telephone update (TGT) 28.20 -1.32: --Update-- Retailer files 8-K document with SEC updating sales information: "Comparable store sales for Target Stores and for the corporation were well below plan for the fourth week of September and are well-below plan month-to-date. As a result of this continued softness in our top-line performance, September comparable store sales for the total corporation are now expected to be slightly below last year's levels."

With sales "slightly below" last year's levels, IMO it is too early to think Target won't do well with their yearly sales plan.

Jorj,

We like kohls, BJs, Best buy and the web, though I did hit TGT for the eddie bauer lawn games for a party last week. I have to say that when I was in there I was virtually alone (unlike the home depot, NH liquor store and BJs that I had just come from). I am sure that TGT must have some stronger areas.
