But the Irish and Israeli problems are not even "limited war". Instead, they are merely disturbances of the peace, and are only a few stages over "riot".

Well, I would disagree with you about there merely being "disturbances of the peace".. I call it subversion..

Or more properly referred to in military circles as "Low Intensity Conflict".

All out war is known as "High Intensity Conflict".

But no matter what you call it, it's still war and innocents caught in the middle still die.

The fact is that the Israelis have been unable to prevent the Palestinians from disturbing the peace. Call it whatever you like. Moan about the unfairness of it all as much as you have to. The fact is that the Israelis have failed.

And neither have the Palestinians achieved a national state. They have merely permitted themselves to be used as pawns for larger regional powers.

They are truly a people led by leaders who "never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity".

And many Palestinians are beginning to realize that they have failed in destroying Israel and brought only misery, unemployment, and death upon themselves.

And even with all of their mistakes, I believe the Israelis are gaining the upper hand over the long term.

Hey, when you look at the Israelis and the Palestinians today, that is obvious.
