considering that Sept 2001 was horrible on retail because of 9/11

IMO September 2001 was probably equally as horrible as September 2002 because of 9/11. It seemed that many people put their life "on hold" during the anniversary of 9/11...quite a few people didn't want to travel, and they wanted to be home with their family. Shopping most likely wouldn't be high on the agenda of things to do during that time period.

The warning IMO is more a warning for the economy in general. Families seem to be cutting back, and not purchasing "extras". But...when they do decide to spend... I would think that they would want to go where they felt they were getting a fair price, and saving money. Usually most parents will cut purchases for themselves before they would not spend money on something their child would want or need. IMO Target should do well with their sales as we get closer to Christmas.

You do know that I *don't* work for Target, LOL!

When I'm shopping I like Nordstrom, Williams Sonoma, and Target...I don't "do" Walmart, and I hate going to Costco.
