He'll be talking his way out of these comments for the rest of his public life. Oh, wrong. Fleischer said exactly what he was supposed to say. He's very good. War is expensive. Far cheaper, far preferable, for Saddam to resign and go into exile. His choice. Even cheaper, and just as welcome from "our" perspective, "our" meaning the administration and its supporters, of which I am one, would be for Saddam's closest associates to simply revolt, and do him in. No matter the cost, he's toast. Black, burnt toast that nobody wants.
