and have one billion in cost savings helping their bottom line.

Well Dell did up their REVENUE guidance so it is more than just a bottom line thing. Smelly will surely participate in any rally. FWIW I think we see SOX 280.

Freep, there is one important thing that gets overlooked by many people.

In this bear, and especially true since May, when we make new lows in an index, we keep re-visiting that level until we make new lows in ALL indices.

In August we made new lows in the NDX. Last week we made new lows in the COMP and NDX. This week the Dow joined in.
If the progression continues, the SPX will join in next week. This happened in June and July. We cannot advance for a serious bounce until all indexes make new lows, IMO.

That has not happened yet, and I believe it takes some air out of the COMP balloon.

Another thing that gets missed is the re-test itself. When an index breaches a previous low, it is often times called "successful". However, every breach has been followed by new lower lows, possibly after an intial re-test.

The NDX made a new lower low on the re-test today. The COMP did not. That should be resolved if the pattern of the past 6-months continues.
