Do you prefer the news in Iraq, or Saudi Arabia? I don't understand what you mean by saying that media "glamorizes" EVERY event in history? The various medias are mostly profit making businesses, who will not stay in business if they don't provide easy to understand, and interesting coverage. There is a lot of competition in the media business. How would you do it differently? Your egotistical nickname "the truth", implies that you can provide enlightenment to the rest of us ignorant, uneducated people. How would you bring us the news? Would you restrict analysts and experts from giving their opinions, on news events in which they are experts? Would you NOT report kidnappings, car chases, murders, terrorist threats and attacks? Would you NOT cover politics, or NOT allow politicians to give their views? How would you plan to stay in business? << What about freedom of speech? Especially when pertaining to the media? >> There is a plethora of free speech in the media. You hear interviews from Liberals, from conservatives, from terrorist groups, from every walk of life. You have many different type of analyst and broadcasters. << An individual who dares speaks against the grain is pressured by the large corporations who threaten to pull sponsorship if one does not apologize for their "trangressions" only to have the show cancelled by TV executives. Bill Maher anyone? My point is clear. >> Your point is clear?! "the truth"s point is clear? <g> Bill Maher offended a lot of the American public, not just "large corporations". Bill Maher basically called Americans cowards, and the terrorists heroes, right after the attack of Sept 11. Forget the large corporations, I was pissed! Many Americans used their American right to free speech by condemning Maher. Don't you feel that Americans have the right to speak against insulting remarks, made by members of the media? Why are you so protective of "the media", all of a sudden? Oh, I know! When it fits your "truth", you support the media. <g> << Most Americans could not locate Canada on an unlabelled map ... >> The first part of your note is mostly naive nonsense, including this statement. I won't waste my time reading the rest of your confused note. Oh, by the way. In a way, you are part of the media. You herald yourself as "the truth", but you fill your notes with unsupported accusations, and show a lot of confusion about how things work. By twisting things, you try to glamorize every event, in order to make a quick profit. Before you critize ALL of the media, look in the mirror, and start there.
