Chicago has a good backup in Chandler. How long he can last if he gets hit is another story but if protected the guy can pick you apart.

Well that's true in many instances. Det, Car, Pit, Jets have installed backups as starters.

But on the other point, I actually think the QB play has improved over the past ten years. And players like Holcomb, Chandler, Buerlein, Flutie, Huard, Johnson, etc. are better than the likes of Carter and several others. So there's an imbalance in the league, as opposed to diminished skill.
