This isn't really the forum, but while it may not be possible to have the last word on intelligence outside our planet in whatever form, there are proofs that can be made about specific claims and powers. Many want to take the idea of god as an axiom, attribute unspecified magic powers, and then say that trumps all investigation. In reality that too has it's own implications, omnipotence requires an environment that permits omnipotence and some of the characteristics required can be determined. The axioms that modern science is founded on is 1) Cause and Effect. This means that if something happens which makes a change in something else, then the first thing had to happen earlier in time. 2) What's done is done. Once something finally does happen, then it really did happen. i.e. Once an event has moved through the present to the past it is no longer a candidate to be affected by another event yet to come. I don't know of a proof for these statement, that is why they are axioms. Relativity and Quantum physics are both products of these notions and rely on them. There is a third really important concept which is not an axiom (meaning it can actually be measured and inferred from the natural rules) often called the arrow of time. It basicly says that the rules that govern our universe are not exactly the same if time were running backward, certain reactions do not act oppositely based on time alone. This combinied with axiom 2 is a proof that our universe is not a simulation, or fated to follow a certain course. This is because you can't change the past, therefore the future cannot be completely determined by the past and still have an arrow of time. To make a long story shorter, these three rules are not compatible with omnipotence. TP>> You are missing ONE (1) very important piece to the equation. Cause and Effect are orphans. This is what prompts many to write creation off to chance, luck, etc. Hence this "what's done is done" matrix-attitude-framework. You need three (3) to complete the equation. This leads us to the most important question to ask for this discussion: What is the third element? Or.... How do we receive and resolve the concept of cause and effect? Perhaps the model we are vainly seeking to prove is mirrored less after an "arrow" out there - past and future -which which divides and separates us from the truth of the present. Perhaps the model of truth we are looking for is where it's always been - ie. the complete, whole circle of energy, light and truth that resides within everyone and everything, everywhere and for all-times. Perhaps omnipotence is love. Perhaps omnipotence is freedom. Perhaps omnipotence is truth. Love, freedom and truth. Sounds like wonderful vessels which are fully capable of holding all power. But we still need that third piece to the puzzle to complete the circle. How about this..... 1) End 2) Cause 3) Effect Without the one "End" all "causes" and all "effects" lack a foundation. Order becomes an impossibility. Hence, we begin to truly believe in falsities such as luck, chance and the rest of what rolls down these dark, black hills as the division and separation away from energy, away from light, away from love continues. I believe mankind is well along in the spiritual process of receiving "the End". This is what "the second coming" is all about. It's not a literal, physical, hell-fire and damnation "event". It's a process. And it proceeds and expands and reveals itself in ways that will NOT EVER violate our free will. For freedom is the conduit of truth. As much as mankind's egoic insanity wants to prove otherwise, we cannot we compelled to receive and share the truth. It's GREAT TO BE ALIVE!! For "the End" is near!! As mankind receives more and more of the spiritual truth of "the End" this will naturally be "the End" of mankind's world and all the egoic insanity that has gone along with it.
