If things were as clear as you claim, W wouldn't be floundering all over the place with this and that marketing line on the coming war.

Oh Win.. I think things are VERY CLEAR.. And Bush has gone a LONG WAY to making them MORE CLEAR..

The UN is a toothless organization, issuing resolutions on a very partisian basis, according to the wishes of a membership primarily consisting of both non and pseudo democratic nations. The very election of totalitarian Syria to the UNSC is clear evidence of how the lunatics are close to running the UN asylum.

The UN has done nothing but go through the motions of an inspection process. A process that was doomed to failure by virtue of its "concern" for Iraqi interests...

IMO, and apparently Bush's, Iraqi interests be damned...

The US is going to carry out what it perceives are its own vital interests since the UN refuses to enforce its own BINDING resolutions. Saddam WILL comply with resolutions that are backed by teeth, or both the UN and he will swept away as the US does what should have been done in 1991.

And something that few should forget is that NONE of this would currently be happening were it not for the US FORCING THE UN TO ACT. They must make themselves relevant by being even more more strict than the US, or be considered even more of a neutered organization as the US forms it's own "posse" and implements a bit of "frontier justice" against someone who should have been destroyed 12 years ago (or earlier).
