I think that is all crap. Children need to be taken places, to have things shown to them and explained, to have their interests encouraged, before they can begin to pursue things autonomously. The kids who become proficient in baseball are, in my experience, the ones whose dad or older brother played catch with them and taught them how to bat. Whether organized activities, along the lines of Little League, are always good is a seperate question.

Those are things it would be contrary to the social norms to do or not to do in our society, but would be exactly the opposite in other societies. :DUH!<g>

Yes, unless the waiter has been incompetent, I consider it a duty to leave a tip. Calling it a gratuity is a misnomer, when people depend on it as part of their wages......
