Ted, I got back from Korea last Monday. Now that I've had a chance to "recover" from my vacation, I can finally reflect on what I experienced there.

With respect to international current events, I can see why there is a lot of resentment toward America. It's hard to explain it all in one post. But I will say that America is unilateral mainly because she can be. Nations who can't afford to be will become better global players sheerly out of necessity.

By the way, North-South relations are pretty warm right now, despite Bush's "axis of evil" declaration. The Asian Games is being held right now in Busan, Korea, and once again, North and South Korean athletes marched together under one flag in the opening ceremony. Families are now being allowed to reunite, and mines in the DMZ are being cleared to allow for railroads to connect North and South.

I still don't trust the North Korean dictators any more than I trust Saddam Insane, but I think the good-cop-bad-cop routine going in Korea is working.
