You won't believe it, but that's not the worst. In this country there are people who go around cutting down or digging up electricity or telephone cables just to get hold of the copper in order to sell it as scrap. The cost of this little lark to the country has been enormous. Only two months ago the telephone connection to my suburb was disrupted for three days because someone had removed the cable.
