I think the Republicans are going to petition the federal courts. Even if the federal courts decide not to hear the case, it amounts to an endorsement with federal (beyond NJ) implications.

If it gets to the the US SC, and if it upholds NJ SC, it will create an interesting precedent. The parties can start switching candidates in and out until the election day, until they think they have a winner.

Not at all; you don't know NJ law. All Torr. has to do is quit the Senate; Dems can replace him in the race. The Reps. know that; they are pushing so that they have control of the Senate for a while.
