Dr.Mahathir urges Muslims to use oil as weapon

MALACCA -- Oil should be used as a weapon to protect the interests of Muslims, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said on Thursday.

At the opening of a local Islamic convention, Dr Mahathir said: 'If we reduce oil output, prices will rise. It can be used as a weapon to protect the interest of Muslims.'

Malaysia is due to take over the chairmanship of the 57-member Organisation of Islamic Conference next year, and Dr Mahathir, 76, will chair the OIC summit meeting in Kuala Lumpur next October.

'Oil is the only thing Muslim nations have which is needed by the rest of the world. If they can cut back on supply, people will not be oppressive on them,' he said.

'When we are weak, we will be exploited. We are now seeing worldwide Muslims are being exploited.

'To avoid exploitation, we must be strong. If we have oil, it can be used as a weapon.'

Referring to the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, Dr Mahathir added: 'Opec should control the price of oil but there is no unity in Opec. When the oil price goes up, there are other nations that increase output.' -- AFP

IC, I guess you must have failed math in elementary school. You are trying to say that a group of people that first lived in an area 1,000 years ago, has just as much right to that land, as the group of people that first lived in the area 3,000 years ago. That is a preposterous concept.

You seem to be one of those that yearns for world peace in his lifetime. That is nothing but a pie-in-the-sky pipe dream. There has been no peace on Earth ever since Cain slew Abel, or if anyone does not believe in the Judeo/Christian concept, there has been no peace on Earth since one man wanted something from another man who would not give it to him. You will never see world peace, so the best advice I can give you is to get your brain out of the clouds, and join the realistic world we live in. Yes, the world is in a mess, but mankind made the mess so much sleep in that bed.

Your posts are reasonable in tone, but are faulty in content, so any further discussion between us is an exercise in futility. That is like butting heads up against a brick wall, and I prefer to take a position that, at least, has a glimmer of hope of being successful.

Wrong again, genius... they have no claim whatsoever... those people left on their own in 1948 when Israel invited them to stay and help turn that land into a land of "milk and honey," but they followed the very bad advice of their crooked leaders... those who stayed are now living a good life, their kids go to school, they're members of government, they own homes and businesses... those who left are now locked in a death struggle completely manufactured by their demented leaders whom they elected, so they can go back to Egypt and Jordan where they came from... even arafart the stupid was born in Cairo, and not in Israel no matter how much he tried to hide that fact from the Western world... the fact that you even buy their propaganda betrays your incredible and gross ignorance of history... are you French? Well, that could explain it...
