That is interesting, because I've heard of some work going to Israel, but not Germany. I know of a couple Bay Area, CA companies who have mid-term plans to out-source nearly all their IT support and development to India. I sincerely think these 'cost-savings' moves are going turn out much more expensive in the long-run. Rob

dave,re:"mostly the CODING...not true". Even if it is
true, majority of development is coding, validation,
these jobs are gone. And it is the domino effect that will
come. Every industry goes thru this kind of transition
until the whole industry find the right place. Even
call-centers go oversee. Textile, toy, jean, ... electronic
assembly, testing, design. At least we got to keep the
high paying management jobs. These will support the
prized 'realEstate', like SanJose, Boston, D.C.
I definitely can tell the difference on 'service' receive
in one of my call to the same merchant at different time.
During those 'off-hours', it's probably directed to
oversea and don't expect 'service'. Things I normally can
do, just got 'blunt answer': 'no can't do'. And then when
I call in the day-time, back to the 'high standard' of
USA's customer service. When you make a call to these
service center, you can ask whom/where and then adjust
your expectation. Well, you get what you pay for.
