OT* I saw that throw, its imprinted on my brain forever. The Vlad Man will be the premier name for the Portland Expos for years to come.

Vlad is a freak. and he gets 15 assists a year even though nobody runs on him. plus his range factor is nearly the equivalent of Clemente's. kinda reminds me of another pretty awesome Montreal outfielder, a young Andre Dawson. or Dave Parker, in his prime (talk about an arm...)

the ONLY thing that is wrong with his game is pitch selection (though he did do a little better this year, with 84 walks). yeah i know that people will say 'well that's just part of his game'. well, being a free swinger was Sammy Sosa's game until 1998, when he learned to take a pitch or two. and the rest is history.

Vlad is still only 26, which is scary. i don't know if he'll ever go for 60, but 45-50 on a regular basis seems reasonable. i'd also like to see him steal less; it beats up your body and a few extra home runs are worth more than the extra steals.

Cheers
