I asked a simple question: is there a competent authority who is allowed to determine what is truly educational and fitting on the campus, in this case a classroom, or not? And if the professor can teach from conventional authorities, and ignore anti- semitic drivel, why can't the universities ban a KKK rally on the (private) campus? The notion that it is educationally mandated to allow it is ludicrous. Choices are made all the time about the use of resources, why should the university incur the expense of security, donor resignation, and general ill- will for ignorant racists? And if the university need not allow a KKK rally, because there is no freedom of assembly on a private campus, then why can't it ban certain terms, like racial epithets, on campus?
