Actually in August of 2000 he wrote that his model was bearish.

I agree that it looks really odd to be in a full fledged bear market, probably the worst one of our lifetimes, and be sitting with 35% invested.

Clearly, Bob missed the boat early on and caught the rubber raft instead. Then his bull market thinking kicked in and kept him from selling on further weakness. What he failed to consider was that the weakness would continue on and on and on. But wait...he knew this was likely to happen. Like you say, he seems to have trouble backing up his beliefs with prudent action.

Fear may have clouded his vision. When that happens you are toast. Or in Martha Stewarts case, a crouton.
