I think Sun Micro (SUNW) is a good reference for any tech
stock right now. SUNW is trading at $2.57 with a book
value of $3.03 or 15% *BELOW* book value.

I think this is a good indicator of how low things can
get for any tech stock. SUNW isn't going out of business
and if such a big tech name is being treated like that,
all bets are off elsewhere.

EMC's book value is $3.37 at the current number of
outstanding shares/cash situation. Will it go that low
or below?

My feeling is that storage should be and will be valued
higher than server vendors, but until companies stabilize
revenue and ideally, make better earnings, the floor is not
in.

If you want to hold but have a tax loss you can take
advantage of, sell, take the loss and buy back in 30 days.
You can carry that loss forward against (hopefully) future
capital gains. The bear will die, it's just a matter of
time.
