Yes I know, dot.un mania. But if the unit prices tank I'm not convinced it matters to those of us who are in the dot.uns for the income, as long as the distros keep coming. I fully expect that my units will be part of my estate, and good luck to whoever has to figure out the A.C.B. for my final tax return.

Lorne,
I have some interesting calculation:
3 months ago say July 2, NT worth $2.11 but today closed @ 0.78 cents. 3 months Loss is $1.33 per share.
BBD.B July 2 was $12.6 but today was $4. Loss = -$8.6
-----------------------------------------------------------
AVN.UN July 2nd was $11.79, today closed $13.3 = Gain $1.51
plus 3 months dividend = $0.13 x 3 months =$0.39 so total gain is $1.51+$0.39 = $1.9.
ERF.UN July 2nd =$28.2, today= $28.6
3months dividend = $0.86, so the total gain = $1.26.

No doubt people wanted income trust

Investors hate stocks; investors love income trusts. Very few stock IPO's; lots of income trust IPO's. Interest rates can't go any lower; higher rates not good for income trusts.

------- You can of course provide some facts to back up this "statement" One clear fact to dispute this one. Rates in Canada so far this year have jumped up at least 3 times. This was suppose to have most definitely killed off the REITS (TRUSTS). When it first happened. What happened? Initially the REITS were brought lower then went on to make some new highs. Are a little off of the highs as of now. NOW THATS WHAT THE FACTS AND PAST DATA RECENTLY HAS SHOWED. CARE TO SHOW OTHERWISE WITH SOME DATA OF YOUR OWN -------

An article almost every day in the mainstream financial press about income trusts. Analysts hated income trusts before; now they speak kindly of them.

-------- Analysts are band wagon jumpers. Going with whats hot at the moment. Thats no surprise to anyone. ------------

Income trusts to be made part of the TSE 300.

-------- PGF.UN was once part of the TSE 300 several years ago. --------------

Anyone else thinking what I'm starting to think?

TD Waterhouse would like to inform you that the following New
Issue has just been announced.

Atlas Cold Storage Income Trust

Short Description: Treasury Offering of Income Trust Units via Bought Deal
Price: 11.550
Settlement: Expected on or about October 23, 2002/Prévue vers le 23 octobre 2002

Yes to many are popping up, but at least the junk ones are falling. Look at TFI. At least investors are not jumping into anything. As long as the business is solid,it will make a good investment. I am waiting for Associated Brands and the Alliance Laundry units.
