It got AOL in hot water, but they had alot to show for it.
I don't have that article anymore, and it was hard copy anyway. AOL was mentioned in the article as a good example of WHY it should be capped. The money they spent for marketing was miniscule compared to the amount they realized over the next 3 years.

I realize that once the money is spent, it's gone is the best reason NOT to cap it. Thing is....sometimes it can be very well spent. It's a tough call. I'd err on the side of conservatism, though.
