I agree that some laws make more sense than others, and that trivial infractions, such as a rolling stop,when one can see clearly, are not worth criticizing. Also, of course, it is possible for the law to enshrine something evil, for example, the Jim Crow regime, and therefore it may be praiseworthy to engage in civil disobedience. By and large, though, we should respect the law, as it represents the judgment of duly constituted authority, and chaos would ensue if each felt licensed to substitute his judgment for the law in most cases, especially when he might easily be self- serving........

In democracy it is often practical and well intended. Still...I will go in the washroom that says "women" if I think there is a problem with a loved one. Hell...I might even break such a rule for a stranger...
