Jim, I agree.
It will be a cold day in hell before I give one more penny to a fund manager, thinking he's actually going to "manage" my investment. He's going to lose it every single day before he makes a move that might reverse it to the upside.

He may well be fulfilling his job description, but that doesn't mean I have to give him my money to keep his job.

Do have money invested in a IRA in a balanced strategy fund and GNMA fund, which I will only change if drastically needed. Other funds, I just have no use for at the present time, and will change my IRA allocation if conditions seem to warrant--but won't depend on the "manager" to determine anything one way or another.

I agree with you re: restrictions.

Of the mutual funds that I know, I haven't heard of any suits, but that could change.
