There is something to take seriously in Hitler, IMO. There was a reason why millions of Germans voted for him, even if the elections were tainted (as some would argue our last Presidential election also was), and a reason why millions of Germans adored him and revered him and were willing to die for his beliefs. It behooves us, I believe, to take him seiously and understand what he was saying and why it was so appealing in order that when the next person comes along with similar arguments we are better prepared to understand and combat them. It is not, IMO, either helpful or intelligent to dismiss out of hand the thoughts of a person who can incite such passionate support and loyalty from so many. Better to examine and understand. Which we can't fairly do if we are bristling with such negtivism that we are incapable of understanding.
