If you think you are doing responsible discussion, I don't think you learnt much at St. John's.

I don't insult you by, as I could, for example, taking a reductio ad absurdum argument of your position on Iraq and claiming that your position means we should nuke every country on earth that harbors any dislike for the US and has any interest at all in obtaining any weapons of mass destruction. That would, indeed, be the logical conclusion of your position taken to the extreme, but I don't believe you would in fact take such a position, so I don't do you the disservice of claiming that you would.

I am sorry you don't feel equal honesty toward the arguments of others.

Of course, it it makes you happy to be illogical and lie about others, you should do that.

Just as I should point out that you are doing so.

On the other hand, it might be just an ab absurdum argument. Sometimes arguments can be like that.
