Even today, you will find people who believe that unwhipped wives represent irresponsible husbands.

Now, Neo may try to say that I think it's okay for people who think that way to do it.

Which is bunk.

I do think it's okay for people who think that way to THINK that way.

But if they impose their thinking on their wives by force, they should go to jail.

The harder, for me, question is what if their wives also believe it, and believe that being beaten is good for them and shows that their husbands really love them, and if they go unbeaten for too long it shows that they are unloved. I don't know that any DO feel that way; I hope not. But if they did, would it be wrong for the men to beat them?

I, at least, find it an interesting question.

Some others, I'm sure, wouldn't, but will be offend that I can even consider it an interesting question.

They are cordially invited not to respond.

If there are any others who also feel it's an interesting question, they are cordially invited TO respond.

If it is not "widely regarded" as wrong, it will not be enacted into law. Admittedly, it is more important that it be regarded so by the elites, who have the most impact on government and public opinion, but it does not bother me much to say that it appears more rapidly among the educated sector.......
