Perhaps ask why was he holding TEFQX, VOD, MSFT, Lucent, etc. when he was so bearish?

I think he proved he is like the rest of us and guesses.

I don't think anyone here or that I know of was saying not to take some profits or reduce allocation a bit to get to where you SHOULD be for your age/retirement, etc.... back in 2000. Nobody I know except for the long time permabears, was was predicting the market would crumble as it has.

If you kept the third of your portfolio in those stocks plus foreign, then added another third of your portfolio to QQQ, then you'd be major tech and major hurting with only the third left in cash to feel good about. Probably no worse than a typical investor with some tech... down over 50% since Jan 2000.

I have to honestly say, I don't have the foggiest idea what you're asking in your first two questions. As to the third, I could only speculate.
